The Background to being a Sustaining Member
  • The Sustainability Trust is launching this new initiative to welcome Rotary clubs and individuals from around the world who accept the need to create a sustainable planet and the humanitarian challenges caused by Climate Change.

  • Why not be the first in your country/District to become a sustaining member and not only deliver a commitment to carbon reduction, but become a champion for managing sustainable environmental progress. We owe this to future generations.

  • Each participating club or individual, wherever they are in the world, are invited to participate as members of The Sustainability Trust through a small annual $100 US dollar donation.

  • These members will represent the first clubs and individuals in the world to pledge support for Rotary sustainable humanitarian projects within a climate change agenda.

  • The Sustainability Trust will use the annual donation to foster, promote and support sustainable humanitarian projects.

  • The participating club or individual will receive by email an annual report, project news and will be able to use the Sustainability Trust logo on the club letterhead, for as long as they make their annual donation.

  • All Sustaining Clubs will be listed on the Trust website, with optional links to their Club websites and may use the Trust logo and link on their own website.

  • They will be encouraged to inter-work sustainable projects for the benefit of those suffering the impact of rising seas, increasing drought and other climate caused impacts.

  • In addition, a Club can nominate a member who will be given access to the Sustainability Trust marketing materials and will be encouraged to promote sustainability by attending district and annual events on behalf of the trust.
